Cheryl is a down-to-earth estate planning and business attorney who takes pride in making people feel at ease the moment they walk through the door. With a calm presence, a patient ear, and a gift for simplifying complex legal matters, Cheryl has helped individuals, families, and business owners across Oklahoma create plans that bring lasting peace of mind.
Originally from Harrah, Oklahoma, Cheryl earned a B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Oklahoma and spent more than a decade managing intellectual property at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation. She became a registered Patent Agent in 2004, then earned her law degree cum laude from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 2008 — all while working full-time and raising a family. From 2022 to 2024, she returned to OCU Law as an adjunct professor of Wills, Trusts, and Estates.
Clients often describe Cheryl as someone who “just makes it all feel easier.” Her goal is to remove the intimidation factor from legal planning and meet every client exactly where they are — no pressure, no judgment, just a thoughtful conversation that leads to a clear and effective plan. Her office and style are intentionally casual, because she believes that good counsel shouldn’t come wrapped in unnecessary formality.
Cheryl serves clients in the areas of estate planning, probate, estate administration, and small business law, and she is honored to support multiple generations within the same family. She is an active member of WealthCounsel, a national community of top estate planning professionals, and has been recognized as a 405 Magazine Top Wills Attorney every year since 2020.
Cheryl is a longtime member of the Downtown Exchange Club of Oklahoma City and the Ruth Bader Ginsburg American Inn of Court, where she has served in leadership roles for many years. She is also a proud military spouse, married to (Ret.) Col. Darrin Husmann since 1992. Together, they share a blended family that includes one daughter, two stepdaughters, seven grandchildren, and four beloved dogs. Cheryl’s clients often say they feel informed and relieved when they leave her office — and that’s exactly the point.
The hardest part is reaching out. Once you do, she’ll help guide the way with skill, warmth, and the clarity you’ve been looking for.
